Zjem cie!!
Because there has been much demand for me to post something new (ok, maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but I promise there has been demand!), I've decided to finally update. Imagine that!
So it seems the Pope and I have something in common. We both mispronounce Polish words. A few weeks ago when the Pope was visiting Poland, he spoke in Italian most of the time, and a few times he spoke in Polish. So one time, he was trying to greet the crowd and say something like, "I greet you warmly!" Well, warmly begins with a "ci" sound, but he used the "cz" sound. Ha, who can't tell the difference between those sounds??? (Note to reader: I can't really tell the difference between the sounds when people tell this story.) So he made the "cz" sound and instead of saying, "I greet you warmly!" he said, "I greet you dorks!" Heh.
Or maybe that's really what he was trying to say, and people just think he made a mistake.
That's what happened in this next story. The other day I was visiting my friend Jadzia and while I was there, I tried to say the word photograph. No, not fotografia, why would I say the easy word for photo? I wanted to say zdęcia, but when I said the word, Jadzia started laughing at me. Uh-oh I thought, what did I say? Well, I guess I said zjem cie (they sound similar, I promise!). Jadzia then told me that I just said, "I will eat you." Nice thing to say to your host, eh?
Anyways, that's my fun story about me and the Pope.

thanks for the update letter. i followed the link to your blog which i should have read long ago. you're hilarious! thanks for bringing poland so near by your descriptions. hope the summer (and camps) have been treating you well!
Silly Stella. I am glad I am not trying to speak Polish. I can't even spell Prschemekphzrt. Or whatever his name is.
There is a boy at camp this week who looks just like a combination of your brothers. It is weird.
